The Path

Three stages of membership

Year One

Provisional

Approved candidates working toward active membership. Provisional members:

Complete a provisional course meeting League standards
Perform a minimum of 20 volunteer hours per year
Attend at least six general meetings and one board meeting
Actively participate in fundraising efforts
Serve on at least one committee
Positively promote the League

Years 2–6

Active / General

Full members with voting rights who have completed provisional requirements. Active members:

Perform a minimum of 20 volunteer hours per year
Attend at least six general meetings
Actively participate in fundraising efforts
Serve on at least one committee
Positively promote the League

Year 7 & Beyond

Sustainer

After six years of membership (one provisional + five active), members may sustain by letter of intent to the Board. Sustainers:

Keep all privileges of active membership except individual voting and holding office
Positively support and promote the League
Remain part of the JSL family for life
